When temperatures in the Southwestern US climb to over 100 degrees, the pavement can get hot enough to cause second-degree burns in seconds. In a new study, a team of surgeons reviewed pavement burn admissions into a Las Vegas area burn center over five years. The team compared the outdoor temperatures at the time of each patient admission to, in essence, determine how hot is too hot. from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/sizzling-southwest-summers-can-cause.html From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/sizzling-southwest-summers-can-cause.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/sizzling-southwest-summers-can-cause-pavement-burns-in-seconds/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/sizzling-southwest-summers-can-cause.html

This a fairly popular path, for all that I think it not terribly effective at speeding up the cutting edge of research and development. Large organizations of any sort are inherently conservative, and tend to get meaningfully involved in new fields of human endeavor only long after their support would have been truly influential. Nonetheless, numerous examples of government focused initiatives have emerged from our community over the past decade. They include the Longevity Dividend initiative, petitioning the US government for greater public funding for translational aging research from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/commentary-on-developing-uk-government.html From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/commentary-on-developing-uk-government.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/commentary-on-the-developing-uk-government-position-on-healthy-longevity/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/commentary-on-developing-uk-government.html Report: Dry AMD requires broad systems biology approach leveraging big data multiple disciplines7/26/2019 Working group recommends strategy shift to discover dry AMD treatments. from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/report-dry-amd-requires-broad-systems.html From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/report-dry-amd-requires-broad-systems.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/report-dry-amd-requires-broad-systems-biology-approach-leveraging-big-data-multiple-disciplines/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/report-dry-amd-requires-broad-systems.html Aging is an inevitable part of life, but how you age is something you can exert some control over. From regular physical activity to nourishing and caring for your body, healthy choices can play a beneficial role in the aging process. Beyond a healthy lifestyle, research has pinpointed specific herbs and nutrients that can support more youthful aging, specifically through the protection of your telomeres. What Are Telomeres? Telomeres are the protective DNA sequences at the end of each chromosome. They are essential to maintaining genome stability within the cells, and researchers have honed in on telomeres as a marker of biological aging. Over time, our telomeres begin to gradually shorten, which is naturally associated with normal aging. Early telomere shortening is linked to lifestyle factors such from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/isagenesis-plant-based-ingredients-for.html from From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/isagenesis-plant-based-ingredients-for.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/isagenesis-plant-based-ingredients-for-youthful-aging/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/isagenesis-plant-based-ingredients-for.html Although fewer young people with ADHD are treated with antipsychotic drugs than suspected, many prescriptions for the drugs do not appear to be clinically warranted, according to a new study from psychiatry researchers at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/study-analyzes-prevalence-of.html From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/study-analyzes-prevalence-of.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/study-analyzes-the-prevalence-of-antipsychotic-use-in-youths-with-adhd/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/study-analyzes-prevalence-of.html The Friday Breeze Newsletter editor Brianna Labuskes, who reads everything on health care to compile our daily Morning Briefing, offers the best and most provocative stories for the weekend. <!–/.slab-container –> Happy Friday! They can lead to injury, hospitalization, and other severe consequences. Having certain chronic conditions, as well as taking certain medications, can raise your risk of experiencing falls and fall-related injuries. One condition that contributes to fainting and falls is atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation occurs when the upper (atrial) part of your heart contracts rapidly and irregularly (fibrillates). Atrial fibrillation may be continuous or occasional and is the most common irregular heart rhythm in older adults. It occurs in three to five percent of people over age 65. To prevent atrial fibrillation symptoms, health professionals may treat patients with medications to control their heart rate or rhythm. However, these medications from From https://johnher1.blogspot.com/2019/07/medications-used-to-treat-atrial.html From https://michaelwalton2.blogspot.com/2019/07/medications-used-to-treat-atrial.html from https://michaelwalton5.wordpress.com/2019/07/27/medications-used-to-treat-atrial-fibrillation-may-raise-risk-of-falls-and-fall-related-injuries/ from https://armandolamb.blogspot.com/2019/07/medications-used-to-treat-atrial.html |
